    Artist History
    Magenta was formed during the summer of 1995 by Anders.Vilde joined him on vocals that autumn, and they are the lineup today.They went to X-Ray Studios to do their first recording in February and March 1996.Five songs got on tape, and they started sending out to labels and radio stations.They received very good response, and signed with the new label All This & Music Too in the beginning of 1997.Anders took the old tape back into the studio to remix and edit four of the songs for their first release.The national radio NRK PeTre pressed 11 copies of the opening track "Secret Sky",put the song on heavy rotation three weeks before the release date.After lot's of promo gigs and other activities Magenta kicked their five pieced live band in June 1997All the pre-production for "Periode" were made in collaboration with Mark Francombe in One Mind Studios, August 1997Magenta signed a licensed with Tatra Productions in November 1997, and went into X-Ray Studios in December 1997 to record their first album "Periode".During a trip with Apoptygma Berzerk to New York, the "One Mind" video was shot."One Mind" was released as a single the 23th of February, and "Periode" was released the 9th of March of 1998.The Magenta recorded 4 tracks in 1999 in collaboration with wellknown artists like Jean Luc Demeyer (front 242,Garm (Ulver, Arcturus), Mark Francombe (the Cranes) and John Macaluso (Yngwie Malmstom, Ark, Powermad), and all these tracks has not yet been released. 2000 will see all of these songs released on MP3.com before Magenta enter a studio to record their third album in 2001.
