Artist History
Born in 1964 in Washington, DC, a historic focal point for both bluegrass and Irish music, Robin began playing guitar at age seven, initially inspired by Doc and Merle Watson. His apprenticeship years were spent at fiddlers' conventions, bluegrass festivals and Irish sessions, mastering the subtleties of a half-dozen instruments in both Celtic and American styles. Now a sought-after multi-instrumental authority, Robin has recorded four critically acclaimed solo CDs, appeared on over two dozen more, and toured extensively throughout the U.S.A., Canada and Europe. His credits include three Washington Area Music Association WAMMIE AWards and the ASsociation for Independent Music's prestigious INDIE Award (with Helicon, for Seasonal Recording of the Year, 1999). Robin lives in Paris, France. |
