Artist description
A sultry and moody, come hither collection of soulful love songs inspired by the romantic life of a girl mid-love and wonder.Nestled amidst the coffee-house murmur, warm, dim smoke filled room, set back in the only corner with a lamp, she sits cross legged and lends her soulful crooning to the ambiance of it all...Her words weren't set to some Poptart standard, she didn't come here to impress ...she's just here, because here she can be alone with her center, weep and express her humanity and not worry about how it looks...She likes to bare her soul to a crowded room, imagining that someone understands, relates and is moved...Slowly the murmuring fades, and the only voice there is hers...sweet, and strong, and full of emotion...Holding onto that note she lets go. |

Artist History
Both my parents will acknowledge the fact that I have been an extremely musical child since my toddler years. At the tender age of 6 I often annoyed my mother on long car trips with my vast knowledge of practically every youthful song imaginable. As far as my yearning to entertain, I aquired that appetite from my father, who encouraged me while he was in my life, to perform for friends and family. For a brief while, he was a DJ at Herewood radio in London, under the alias "Johnny Rocket". Since we had no babysitter, and he worked such late hours, he often brought my brother and I along. At the age of 8 I developed a taste for Rock n Roll, from the endless hours I spent at the station, memorizing , word for word every song that hit my impressionable little ears. At that time, my father could drill me on Name and Title of songs on the radio, and I could rattle them off like the alphabet. As a perk of the job, he was able to introduce me to some musicians in the industry at that time, and I even went to a few concerts...it was then that I realized my dream. At the age of fourteen, after my mother had remarried, I began to teach myself on my step father's guitar. He taught me some songs from his breif musical career, and I took it from there.I have had the pleasure of playing with a few incredibly talented artists, and have had some very positive feedback.I mostly spend my time playing acoustically at coffee shops, and open mic nights in the portland area, and have been happy with the reception. In the future I plan to record with some other musicians, whom I hope will lend their talents in classical, Jazz, blues or funk accompanyments. I am currently leaning towards using some piano, lead guitar, cello, violin as well as various effects thrown in for good measure.I know that many artists have stated that they would rather not "Confine" themselves by labeling their music in any one category. I myself have just had a difficult time picking one, and I would much rather leave it up to my listeners... |
