Artist History
lowsunday is a four-piece band operating out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Their music has been described as massive, dark pop/rock, lush, andatmospheric. Until 1998, they were known as Low Sunday Ghost Machine.lowsunday were among Musician's Magazine's, Best Unsigned Bandssemi-finalists for 1996, and they have played with a variety of nationaltouring acts, including Clan of Xymox, Dink, Human Drama, Bile andBreathless.Their 1996, self-titled debut release is distributed in the United Statesand Europe by Etherhaus. Their 1997 7-inch, Static, was released by BlissRecords and has been distributed as far as Japan. Both releases may beordered through Middle Pillar. Compilation cds have included Painted DreamsII (Losing Today compilation, Spring 2000), The Unquiet Grave (CleopatraRecords), and various local compilations.The second full length cd, elesgiem, released mid-December, 1999, wasimmediately named to the top ten cd list of Pittsburgh bands by 105.9fm TheX, Pittsburgh.lowsunday signed with ProJekt Records in January, 2001. The premierdarkwave/ethereal/ambient/gothic label in New York City is home to thebands Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Human Drama, Mira, Lycia, Robert Fripp andmore.lowsunday features mastermind, Shane Sahene on guitar and vocals, Shawn Bannon guitar/keyboards, Bobby Spell on bass and A T Vish on drums. |
