    Artist History
Savitt has written and recorded many original instrumental compositions, and has released his first full length 12 song CD entitled "Hear & Now". A New York City resident, Savitt performs regularly in the New York metropolitan area with a group and as a jazz guitar soloist. He is also the owner and chief engineer of SaviTech Studio, a state of the art hard-disk based recording and production facility in midtown Manhattan. As an electronic musician, Savitt uses a MIDI guitar and sequencer to engineer the music that acts as his back-up when he is not performing with a full band. This use of digital technology allows Savitt to perform as a one man band and sound like a full ensemble. Jim has performed in numerous venues throughout the New York area ranging from cafés and restaurants to trade show events at large convention centers. In addition, he has performed internationally and was invited to play a 2 week stint in Cairo, Egypt in both 1999 and 2000. Recently, Jim collaborated with and co-wrote a collection of radio-ready smooth jazz tracks with N-Coded Music recording artist and sax star David Mann. These well received tracks are included on "Hear & Now" and are being shopped to record companies at this time. Jim's first self produced CD EP entitled "The Way Home" was released in 1998. In addition to these instrumental projects, Jim has been working very closely with the Afro-pop star Nkossi Konda. He layed down nylon & electric guitar parts on Nkossi's upcoming release Tambula Malembe and recently performed with his band at the N.J. Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). Jim played MIDI and nylon guitar and was recording engineer on new original tracks by the Japanese singer/songwriter "Miko". Jim also performs with pop/rock vocalist Jennifer Barrett and was a main songwriter and guitarist for Blue Mile, an original pop/rock band that performed in the clubs of New York City. With 20 years of experience in musical theory and performance, and an expertise in computer technology, Savitt constantly seeks out new venues to express his musicality. He was commissioned to compose music for Any Channel, an interactive entertainment company developing a video game for a multi-player CD-ROM machine. Mixing eerie sound effects and a pulse-pounding theme, Savitt's score has been incorporated into their alien infested combat-action game. In addition, his compositions were regularly featured by The Endless Advantage, Inc. a music service provider. Jim studied at the Berklee School of Music and has a bachelor of science degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, where for two years he was the musical director of their 17 piece jazz band.
