Artist description
Regarded as one of the most innovative of the new wave of folk rockers they are firmly centred within the English dance tradition, but draw on many different sources and styles for their songs. The careful listener will find early punk, late house, and in-between dub nestling comfortably together with the more usual Celtic jigs and English reels.Bastard child of Fairport Convention and the Sex Pistols. Folk Rock Extraordinaire indeed ! New MP3's for sale on, http://stage.vitaminic.co.uk/tricks_upon_travellers/ |

Press Reviews
Blame - This is bloody brilliant. Real folky rock with a bite. Reminicent of The Newcranes and The Men They Couldn't Hang. Lightly distorted guitars, fantastic drumming, stylish fiddling and unique vocals that sound similar to Jello Biafra. The best bit about Blame has to be the dub breakdown in the middle followed by folk fiddling the The Levellers wished they could do. Everything about this song screams talent, from song writing to execution. All this and lyrics that actually say something as well. Visit the site, listen to the music, do it NOW!Knocker Boys - A fiddle plays this folk punk song in, quickly followed by a vocals break, and then its full steam ahead. Real punk sounding vocals and heavy guitars, all counterpointed by the sweet melody of the violin busily hammering out an excelent tune. This sounds very much influenced by irish folk music, but the guitar riffs have a melodic punk sound, like an early Bad Religion song maybe...Tricks Upon Travellers remind me of a band I saw ages ago, when I was a wee nipper, called You Slosh, although they were rock based instead of punk. These boys will make it, no doubt. |
