Artist History The Cactus Pricks played their first gig in May 1998 ... the same month they were nominated as Outstanding New Canadian Band in RPM Magazine’s “Big Country Awards”. Two months later they had the #1 Independent Country Song in the U.S. (Nashville Tracker Chart) and had been played on over 350 North American radio stations. By the end of that summer, another nomination came ... this time for Best Country Album at the West Coast Music Awards. By early 1999, CMT Canada had given The Cactus Pricks videos over 300 plays, and their website hits have reached into the tens of thousands.
