    Artist description
The musical growth of John Bateman has been steady, even, and sure. It has become a music reminiscent of...no one else. John is an excellent guitarist, but it is the vocal timbre of his singing, the plaintiveness, if you will, that is his greatest gift. John Bateman has a delivery that makes you believe. One that slips you ever so gently into his shoes.

    Artist History
Throughout the past years John Bateman has led some of the "PREMIER" local country bands to great regional popularity. Early on, in Idaho, John hooked-up with an outfit with a beautiful hard-country edge named "TarWater". Later, in Salt Lake City, John would join and lead the already impressive group "CowJazz," a touring unit of the honky-tonk persuasion. It was a band of regional identity and intergalactic purpose which became the stuff of which local legends are made. Jerry Jeff Walker even named an album after them. John Bateman and "CowJazz" literally owned the "Million Dollar Cowboy Bar" in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, when they came to town. Since the early hay-days of the intermountain country music scene, John has continued to perform and write his music. His songs are simple and complex as life in the here and now, unadorned with fluff, saturated with love and aimed right at your gut.
