Artist History
Guitarist and composer J.C. Doo-Kingué had a pan-cultural upbringing, living and performing in Paris, Cameroon, and New York, as well as benefiting from musical studies at Berklee College of Music.
While each of the players is a virtuoso in his own right, this is truly a band, which has been honing its sound every week in New York night clubs for over three years. Individually, these musicians have worked with artists as diverse as Harry Belafonte, Manu DiBango, Chaka Khan, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Don Covay, Jeannie Bryson, Michael Urbaniak, and Dizzy Gillespie, among others. The band's premiere CD, Mood Swings, was released in late 1997.
