    Artist description
In March 1974, Chris Di Salvatore dug his brothers electric guitar out of the cellar, purchased a chord book and strings from a local music store in Bangor, Maine, and began teaching himself to play the guitar. His passion for playing was so tremendous, that he played for hours each day for several years, learning favorite songs, and writing his own. Chris has played lead and rhythm guitar in various garage bands over the years, while accumulating his own original music along the way. Chris has worked as a mechanical engineer since 1982, and also as a real estate agent in California and Florida. Chris's interest in philosophy and the occult lead him to a fascination with the legend of Atlantis. In 1994, it dawned on him to write a rock opera on Atlantis. Chris then began to organize his existing original music and proceeded to write and record new songs consistant with the Atlantis theme. When his engineering career led him to Florida in 1997, Chris decided to locate a recording studio to start professionally recording his music. In January 1998, he teamed up with guitarist Chris Hattingh, and the two then began co-producing the project and completed it in mid March. Chris's primary influences include Niel Young, Joe Walsh, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Andrew Lloyd Webber/ Tim Rice, Elton John, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, The Eagles, and the Kinks."Atlantis: A Rock Opera" takes you on a mystical journey from the rise of the Atlantean culture thru it's downfall, and finally, the great deluge. It's music was drawn from an archive of over 20 years of accumulated songwriting by Chris. The diversity of it's musical style represents a unique blend of classic rock with an alternative sound truly unique to any other production today.Contact Info:PO BOX 2193Pinellas Park, Fl. 33780tunelink@glx.net(727)394-2912http://www.tunelink.com

Funny, no credit to Ignatious Donnalyor Madame Blavatsky. No matter, though, Atlantis is a monster of a projectsurprisingly well done by two people and a host of electronics and analoginstruments. The result is a "classic" rock opera along the lines of RichardBurton/ELO's War Of The Worlds. Is it about someone trying to communicate with the long lost inhabitants of Atlantis ? Is it a direct channel from Zeus ? One of the songs, "Critias", is taken from Plato's history of Atlantis, the only known writing that may, in fact, indicate that Atlantis once really was, only to be destroyed by hate... http://www.chrisdisalvatore.iuma.com- David Lee Beowulf, Ink 19 Magazine
