    Artist description
    Drummer/percussionist Rohin Khemani is known for his versatility and ability to support artists in many genres of music. Since leaving Canada to study at Berklee College of Music where he was a student of Kenwood Dennard (Sting, Miles Davis, Maceo Parker), he has performed nationally and internationally as a freelance musician. In addition to his studies at Berklee, he has participated in workshops with jazz legends Max Roach, Yusef Lateef, and Billy Taylor at the University of Massachusetts. Major festival appearances in North America include Lilith Fair, the Newport Jazz Festival, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival. Rohin currently lives in New York City where he freelances, teaches, and is pursuing graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music.

    Artist History
    Rohin Khemani was born in Ottawa, Canada on August 13, 1976 and began playing violin at the age of six and drums at the age of ten. Growing up he was a member of ensembles ranging from youth orchestras to garage bands to jazz trios. Rohin's diverse musical experience from childhood to his professional career has led to an interest in percussion and rhythm theory from around the world; which he studies through ongoing travel. He has been studying the rhythmic aspects of Indian classical music on tabla for the past three years with Jerry Leake (Natraj, Club D'Elf) and recently returned from India where he studied with Rajeev Devasthali and Pandit S.V. Kashalkar.

Rock/studio set in sizes 22" x 14" or 20" x 14" bass drum, 12" x 10" rack tom, 13" x 12" rack tom, 16" x 16" floor tom all in walnut finish - 1980s square badge & 1970s hex badge, 14" x 5 1/2" snare in walnut finish - 1990s square badge or 14" x 8" snare in maple finish - 1980s square badge; cymbals incl. 14" Bosphorus Masters Series hi-hats, 16" K. Zildjian thin crash, 17" Sabian medium thin crash, 18" Sabian medium crash, 22" Sabian jazz ride or 20" K. Zildjian dry ride. Additional snare drums incl. 14" x 5 1/2" Ayotte Custom snare in maple finish, 14" x 6" Ludwig Supraphonic brass snare - 1980s.
