Artist History Jory started playing guitar when he was four years old, when his parents bought him a "Mickey Mouse" guitar. He remembers his father making him sit down and play along with Chet Atkins records. He says he regretted it at the time, but will be forever grateful for the "prodding" and "encouragement" his family and friends gave him. He also gives due credit to Chet Atkins, who he grew to like and respect. As a teenager, he was influenced profoundly by the Beatles, especially the guitar playing of George Harrison. He went on to play in a neighborhood band, and later played some bars with a band called "Turner", in Southwestern Michigan. This page represents his work as a solo artist. He's enjoyed singing for as long as he can remember. He writes music, and with the help of computer technology, his Gibson S-1, DR-5 Synthesizer, and Yamaha Keyboard, he says he is now able get the music out of his head and HEART, and into a form that can be listened to, and hopefully enjoyed by many. He's grateful to the people who designed SONAR Software, and uses that program for mixing and recording.
