Artist History
My earliest recollections of playing "saucepans & biscuit tins" are from around 1977. From that time I recall the interest & fascination of the composition & sounds of instuments, both home-made & manufactured, like the early Mini-Moog synthesizers. I remember purchasing my first keyboard, a basic 32 key Casio and then in my early teens I discovered Tandy (Radio Shack in the U.S) & there I found myself, swept along in the world of electronic circuit kits & reverb units. So I dismantled my keyboard, wired it up to a mish-mash of circuit boards, diodes & capacitors ran a cable in to my first Hi-Fi system and made sounds that I haven't been able to recreate to this day!. Those were the days!. My music background and love of Dance & the early 80's lead me to head for the bright lights & towering speaker systems of the Club scene & at the age of 18 (well almost) I found myself working as a part-time barman. Having mastered the art of mixing cocktails I found myself being trained by one of the UK's top mixing DJ's at the time. Tony TG taught me to mix 3 SLP1200's at the same time as gargling a glass of Scotch (only joking!) well I could have been. The sheer fluidity of Tony's work and what he taught me has never passed me by. After just 4 months at the Club, I found myself running it as the Club Manager in charge of music, bands & entertainment. My life was to change forever. Long live dance, music, the sounds & its creators. |
