Artist History
Ahlil’s conscious flow is built from deep seeded spiritual and mortal experiences. Studying Egyptian Theology, and tapping into the metaphysical realm allows his rhymes to possess deep clues into life’s predicaments and the chaos both internal and external, mental and environmental. Lyrically, Ahlill channels his street energy into a healing hought process that both exposes and grounds all misconceptions and deceptive twists, revealing the shadows between good and evil. Ahlill began his travels while rocking block parties in the Stamford Projects, andconnecting with the Muslim community. Thoughts and lyrics grew within the towers of those buildings till the formation of the group Trypax with “Nuggie J.” and “Fudge”. Soon, Ahlill found himself faced with street life and the negative energy within. Trypax put out their first single “Boom Chica Boom”, and began doing shows including arena performances for Zulu Nation. Ahlill began to get down with the founders of Hip Hop. Artists like Kool Herc and Afrikka Bambatta began to know and respect him as he helped promote their various projects and open for acts such as Kool G. Rap. After rocking the mike at a show at the Puck Ballroom, Ahlill chose to move away from Trypax to work on his own material and tracks released by Axiom Records. Now ready to crush the opposition with his accumulation of lyrical knowledge and sheer power, Ahlill has joined the Blaze Beats camp. There is no question, Ahlill has no shadow, this rap game is his. |
