Artist description
Fast paced old school goth/gothic punk. This is early-80's-inspired goth from Sao Paulo, Brazil. If you like Techno-ish goth stuff, Marylin Manson or any of that gothic metal s**t, you are in the WRONG PLACE! Warning: We don't take ourselves too seriously. We do not draw on our faces and we absolutely HATE the whole vampire motif. We just drink a lot of vodka and play what we feel like. If we can remember any of it. |

Artist History
Formed in 1995 Sao Paulo by J., Rodrigo Martins and Nelson Pascuareli, Sleepless is one of the few bands left in the Brazilian goth/punk scene. Became very well known by playing the old legendary Brazilian venues such as Retro and Armageddon, and participating in alternative festivals such as the annual Zombie Zoo. Happened to open for the unlikely (and scary!) goth band Two Witches, from Finland, in 1997 (...so that was the most inconsistent gig EVER. Oh well, we're mercenaries!) Currently working on their new album, which will come out in 2002 under the Brazilian Vile&Futile label. |
