Artist description
My current musical concept is, contrary to most of my earlier releases (JANUS, Digitale Schachtelteufel etc.), not centeret around "songs" or "pieces", but around more abstract musical entities I call "concepts". A concept (like "Advanced Taoism" or "Subwars") is a collection of musical building blocks (called "ideas"), which can be anything from a general mood to a saxophone solo. By playing with the concept, the concept everytimes gets enhanced by the additional ideas inherent in the actual playing. The actual performance of the concept is called an "incarnation" of the concept. The composition process for a concept is thus an open process.
This approach is also found in the music of my improvised dance ensemble "Eclectic Blah". |
