Artist History
Stuart Fulton was born in Alabama and first learned to play music on a player piano that was brought into the area by missionaries. His keyboarding career was made possible in 1994 by the introduction of electricity into the area. In 1997, a rift developed between Fulton and his mentors when his aunt was killed by a poisonous snake that the missionaries had urged her to hold. It was then that he began his lifelong love affair with science, and left for Birmingham to find his fortune. At first, Fulton roamed the streets of downtown Birmingham playing a battery-powered keyboard for handouts. After months of poverty, a fortunate accident put him on stage with the Banjo Jo-Jo's as a keyboard-playing replacement for their lead banjo player. Recognizing latent talent in their new companion, the Banjo Jo-Jo's helped Fulton through his transition into urban civilization, and made it possible for his New Wave/Darkwave and Synthpop music to be available to the world today. |
