    Artist description
Someone once described the band like this: "You ever see Goodfellas? You know near the end when he's driving around all wired and freaked out looking for helicopters? That's what this reminds me of...that scene. This is driving around, freaked out on drugs, looking for helicopters music." Go figure...

    Press Reviews
The power trio of Jack's Smirking Revenge comes out with guns blasting on their smashing self-titled debut. Singer-guitarist Jeff Carr, singer-bassist Bob Fallon and drummer Storm Thorson are post-punk theologians that put the pedal-to-the-metal when the recording light comes on. All ten songs impressively reflect the trios songwriting savvy that hints of influences by the likes of Iggy Pop, Green Day and The Ramones. Gnarly vocals, searing chunks of blistering guitar and erupting bass lines make Jack's Smirking Revenge one of Boston's finest purveyors of hard rockin' punk. Metronome Magazine Oct. 2001 *********** Jack’s Smirking Revenge 10-song CD How ironic that I should receive this CD the same day that The Noise’s anniversary issue features an article about Frank Rowe’s birthday party. Jack’s Smirking Revenge have managed to create a time-machine disguised as a CD that will instantly transport the listener back to the days when bands like Row’s Classic Ruins, The Neighborhoods, and The Nervous Eaters were inundating this fair city with a brand of power/ punk/ pop that essentially defined the sound of our town (to cop from The Del Fuegos). Old references, to be sure--but none of the songs make me think of anything any newer, This is old-school Boston rawk, with just enough twang (in songs like “Alien Train” and “Dirt Devil”) to make you think they might not be from around here (or that they’re channeling the spirit of the lamented Scruffy the Cat, who were). No shoe-gazing here; this is the music that validates the invention of garages. Is this music relevant in the year 2001? Who cares? When three guys get together and throw down rock that makes one think of muscle cars and beer, questions of relevance become irrelevant. Tim Emswiler/The Noise October 2001/
