Artist History
Helgrind was formed in 2000 after a split of the original band (Cerberus) in the summer of that year. With the 'Warriors Of Steel' CD just recorded by Dave Chang and a new drummer in tow it was time to start again.
A fresh start, a new name was needed. The band has an interest in Norse Mythology, one word seemed best to describe the power and heaviness of the music - Helgrind (Hell Gate).
In 2001 saw Helgrind start to make some waves in the underground metal scene headlining shows with bands like Vae Solis and Coldblooded and supporting bands like Landmine Spring and Age Of Ruin. In October was the first appearance on the cover mount CD of Terrorizer magazine and in December our second appearance.
In January 2002 saw the introduction of Andy Semmens on drums.
The history is starting to write itself again...........

Press Reviews
Helgrind, a three piece from London have moved in a heavier, yet more diverse direction with their producer extraordinaire, Dave Chang-assisted release 'Warriors Of Steel'. Although a title like that would suggest, something heavy and clunky, it is anything but, with it's string melodic undertow, and Norse mythology influenced lyrics, the warriors of steel are in a fighting mood, and woe betide anyone who gets in their way |
