Artist History
They are Dallas natives currently pursuing careers in the music industry. G-LUCCI and ICEBERG, have been friends since high school, where they were teammates on the football team. Once they discovered each other musical talents, they hooked up and became “The Prophets of Intellect.” After recording in the studio and winning talent shows, the group took a hiatus to pursue football dreams. After pursuing football careers, Iceberg and G-Lucci united once again with Lo-Lo Johnson to form the group HI-LIFE. As time progressed, the group changed their name to “DISCUVA” featuring the music of Lo-Lo Johnson and THIRD COAST FUNK. They exploded onto the rap scene by differing their music, while breaking the old traditions by setting new trends. In 1997, DISCUVA signed a major record deal with Ricardo Edwards of Maja Playa Recordings and released the highly anticipated and acclaimed “Dirty Ballin”, featuring 12 of the hottest tracks by Third Coast Funk. Due to contractual complications between the record label and the distribution company, the album only sold 10,000 registered units. However, several thousand more units were sold underground to adoring Hip-Hop fans. DISCUVA has been released from their previous contract with MAJA PLAYA and are currently working on their second album titled “Discuva 2000.” Discuva and Third Coast Funk continues their musical quest of putting Dallas on the map in the rap game with the help of managers Eric and Derrick Richardson and executive producer Damien Robinson. With these three partners and the musical talents second to none, be on the lookout for DISCUVA. |
