Artist History
CQDX first cranked up back in pre-historic 1974 when a kindly music store manager let Steve take home Korgs, Moogs, FX Boxes, Guitars, etc. after closing the store every night... Every piece of gear had to be brought back in mint condition the next morning before opening time... Steve lost MUCH sleep that year and a new type of electronic music was born from these Midnight experiments! In the middle '80s Steve was supporting groups such as Madonna, Michael Jackson and Journey in their use of Akai Synthesizers and Samplers while also developing sounds for the original Akai Sampler Library that are still in use today... Along the way, Steve wrote articles for Electronic Musician Magazine which, with the editorial assistance of Craig Anderton, were some of the first published how-to guides concerning sampling and looping for fun and music! Steve has also produced some wacko commercials for accounts ranging from General Electric Corporation to the Championship Wrestling Association... CQDX currently maintains Spacestation Studio in Memphis as a private project facility for Steve and a few choice friends who drop by either literally or virtually via the Internet... Technology is a wonderful tool and CQDX is here to use it to reach YOU with great music! |
