Artist description
You're somewhere off the far end, off the edge of the map, somewhere exotic where you don't know the language or recognize the terrain but are enthralled by it anyway.
.WAV, founded by Vessela Stoyanova and Troy Kidwell, play international rock music and jazzy arrangements of Balkan folk songs.
"As the world gets smaller music is getting a much more global audience and will reflect that in a more international sound." proclaims Vessela.
THIS ISN'T ONE OF THOSE SAPPY WORLD MUSIC BANDS WITH WOODEN FLUTES AND SYNTHS, THIS BURNS! Wicked ethno-groove drumming, metal guitar and gypsy violin pulling you out of your seat or into your headphones, chilling you out and giving you a salsa slap on the ass.
"There were people in Yugoslavia and Uraguay listening to Guns-N-Roses in high school just like I was and what you get now are muscians who are bringing that kind of energy to their traditional music." It's world/rock fusion music coming at us from the other direction.
.WAV ROCKS THE CASBAH, THE MEHANA AND THE HOUSE! |
