Artist History Simone Gendron is currently a band and choral director at a Winnipeg high school. Having graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education degree, she majored as a flutist and continues to play today as a member of the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble. Also an active vocalist, Simone has performed with the University of Manitoba Singers, several U of M big bands, as well as with the U of M vocal jazz group,"Vocal-Ease". She is currently a member of Apogee, a vocal jazz octet. Simone also performs throughout the city as a freelance jazz musician, appearing with Michelle Grégoire, the Ron Paley Big Band, and many others.
