    Artist description
Christopher Scum is God and wants the world to know it - By Jimmy! In the fall of 1986Christopher Scum, then known as Chris Andrews, generously graced Knoxville with his multi-talented unique presence. He fronted an all original punk rock thrash trio called P.F.O., short for Project First Offender, a strict form of shock probation, which Chris was sentenced to three times by the age of 19. P.F.O. was by far the heaviest Punk band in Knoxville at that time. After gigging regularly with P.F.O. for just a few months, Scum met up with fellow punker, Chris Bullock. The two of them, along with drummer Scott Semple (Koro, the Wedge) went on to form Stop Daddy, Knoxville's most talented experiemental band to date. Influenced by Fear, Black Flag, The Minute Men, The Replacements and other old school Punk Bands, Stop Daddy quickly became popular in the then existent Knoxville scene. Although Bullock wrote the music and sang the songs, it was Scum's ingenious bass lines and chaotic stage peformance that made Stop Daddy the great band it was.Unfortunately Semple and Bullock could not stand being out classed and upstaged by Scum and the band fell apart in late 1989.In 1990 Scum teamed up with P.F.O. drummer, Mike Lipkin. The two along with singer, Greg Smith and guitarist, Tod Henely formed the band The Anal Daiseys, another experimental Punk project. Once again the band was lead by Christophe's creative lead bassing, but ended abruptly because of Henley's stage fright.Scum hooked up next with fellow musical genius John (Swifty) Sewell (Teenage Love, Torture Kitty) to blow away Knoxville with their band, Homewrecker.Homewrecker, as outrageous a band as there has ever been, even won a spot opening for late great GG Allin, who they blew off stage.Jealousy reared its ugly head again when Sewell and the others realized that Scum had fans by the score and they were rarely acknowledged because of it, the band crumbled in 1993.Scum, discouraged by the jealously and inability of others, went underground, deciding to perfect the arts of drinking, fighting, and fucking.Jails, hospitals, rehabs and other institutions became a way of life for him.Now at 32 years old, Christopher Scum is doing solo work and has released his first accoustical Punk CD, aptly titled "Relapse". Scum is now alcohol free because of a bad liver and a whore's police record. If you are so lucky to catch Christopher Scum live, expect the unexptected and hold onto your girlfriends for dear life. If they spend anytime at all with him, you may never get them back.Having been compared to the likes of Mike Neso, Johnny Thunder, and Darby Crash, Scum sings and plays with more heart than Hank Williams and more soul than James Brown. He has the charisma of ten Elvis' combined.Scum's fans include people like Joey Ramone, Madonna, Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth and Stephen King. Do yourself a favor and get to a Scum performance ASAP. It will greatly change your life for the better. Christopher Scum is bigger than life itself. Some people have reported experiencing orgasms while at a performance. So be prepared for about anything and you'll probably get more than you bargain for.

"Metro Plus" The Greatest Show on Earth: Thanks to the organizers of this Satuday's Murderpalooza 2000, a fabled perfomer and maniac about town has emerged from a musical coma to rock anew. yes, Chris Andrews, alias Christopher Scum, will join like-minded acts, Minion, Abraxus, Murder Man, Hogman, Evil Twin and Mike III for what will surely be an, ahem, legendary event. Murderpalooza is the brainchild of Sam Boswell, the Murder Man himself. And Andrews was indeed surprised when Boswell called him out of the blue, requesting that he perform on this year's show."I have absolutley no idea how he found me," says a baffled Andrews, "and I don't know if they're gonna get me out there in Union County, and murder me either. I have no idea why in the hell they'd be wanting me to play, but I'm sure gonna do it."Maybe Boswell stumbled upon a copy of Andrews' latest CD, the aptly title "Relapse". Or maybe it's just Andrews' sterling reputation as a performance artist par excellence. In the past, Andrews has fronted such legendary combos as Stop Daddy, P.F.O.(Project First Offender), The Anal Daisies and Homewrecker. For the Murderpalooza show, Andrews will perform as a solo act-featuring old chestnuts and new materrail alike. So if you're not brave eoungh to venture out to Union County for a peak event on the redneck/punk/hellraiser's social calendar, then you can find a copy of "Relapse" at area stores and experience gems like "Drinkin' Beer with Jesus" and "Sometimes I Need a Woman" in the safetly of your living room."Swift Fanzine" : Anal Daisies - These guys are led by well-known bass player and all around nut Chris Andrews. They're louder than hell and the lyrical slant is your basic, all-American mysogyny. Lyrics like "More peole come through your front door than Macy's Department Store, you fucken whore" prove that these guys will rule this town if Chris doesn't O.D. first.Steve (Turtle) Hampton, Knoxville artist and poet, "Christopher Scum has suffered dear for his art, now it's your turn"
