Artist History 23Hz (producer. remixer. digital artist) started the CATFISH project in the spring of 1996. Linking up with the unique vocal talents of longtime hiphop collaborator Charles Anthony Reeve the experiment with the jungle blue print began. It was originally intended as a studio project, but many long summer sessions and musical collaborations led to the idea of taking the whole thing onto the stage.CATFISH first played live in December 1996. Five musicians + a hefty DAT full of drums standing proud in replacement for CLEVELAND WATKISS [METALHEADZ]. Other gigs saw them carve up the dancefloor with the likes of DJ HYPE, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION, UP BUSTLE + OUT (NINJA TUNES), NITIN SAWNEY AND DJ RATTY.A polyrhythmic soundscape of live instrumentation, vocals and studio technology has continued to evolve with the additions of the sharp + dynamic drumming of Alex G Lucas and the fluid engineering perfection of Andy Oakley.CATFISH now unleash their debut album "SUBSPACE FREQUENCIES" through TAR MEDIA. They are currently working on a new live set to support this.
