Artist History
Once upon a time (well, maybe twice), three experienced but generally unknown musicians found each other through the classified section of a Boston area music newspaper. As Eddie, Brian and Ken began writing songs it quickly became apparent that the combination had exciting potential. They endured numerous auditions for a vocalist until they eventually discovered the talents (as well as a few annoying habits) of a guy named Mark, who was singing in a band that rehearsed down the hall from them. Mark was enticed to audition and then joined the group. Within a few weeks they chose a band-name based on their mutual histories of anger, frustration, misery and misdirection, and then they recorded a demo CD featuring their original brand of metallic mind-numbing melodies. STePCHILD spewed out of their rehearsal studio with a steady regiment of performances at New England nightclubs, including Sharky's, the Middle East, Chantilly's, the Station, Goodtimes, TJ's, Old Port Tavern, Harbor Lights, Fuel, Smithwick's, Oasis, and many more. Their highly energetic and outrageously dynamic shows mixed with their unique style of aggressive doom rock, reach deep into the souls of club-goers. Soon STePCHILD was building a strong following of devoted fans (thanks everybody!).
Now, more than two years later, having played with national and regional acts like Zakk Wylde, Slaughter, Exciter, Moke, 7th Rail Crew and Believer, and at promotional events for radio stations like WAAF, WGIR and WBRS, STePCHILD are reaching even deeper into their souls. They just recorded a new 6-song demo CD, unleashing the gut-wrenching power that will take them to the next plateau of their career. Mark, Ken, Eddie and Brian are STePCHILD and they are ready to take on the world.

Press Reviews
"The catchiness level is extremely high and in no time all six tracks have been spent, only to restart with no objection from me. Yes folks, this one is a repeater. Heavy, crisp riffs,in-your-face slapping bass and clean, well verbalized emotional lyrics is what you can expect fromthis band."

"Fronted by the incomparable Mark Stepchild on vocals, this band eerily resembles Metallica during their early days. Although the themes have grown more intense, Stepchild emits an ominous aura that can't be denied. Guitarist Ken Avola exhibits blistering command of the fretboard with howling licks and tortured chord progressions. Meanwhile Eddie Slager erupts with explosive bass lines backed by the simmering fervor of Brian Johnson. Collectively this band kicks serious ass.
If Stepchild can manage the same intensity of their album in the live arena, they could very well manage a loyal legion of fans willing to worship their every word. Explosive!"
