Over active song writing, under active fidelity and just the right amount of cynical passion for real music lovers. M.e. is a solo songwriting machine. In the vein of Built to Spill, the music is sloppy and passionate. Guitar solos are forced, vocals are strained and the catchy hooks tie them together like a futile attempt to coax them into a more palatable rendition of their pop music alter egos. |

Artist History
For roughly ten of his 19 year music career, M.e. has been slowly doodling out arrangements on his 8-track recorder between music projects. It wasn’t until 1998 that he decided to make his own personal music the main focus. After the release of three demo cassettes and two full length CD’s in 1998 & 1999, his wife challenged him to write record and release an EP of 5-7 songs every month of the year 2000.The challenge didn’t come until late April 2000, but including a full length recording released in January, the beginning of 2001 welcomes 10 additions to the M.e. discography. M.e. plans to continue the monthly EP schedule through March of 2001 to complete the 12 month cycle, but will then concentrate on putting out a number of full length recordings.Recent live performances have featured intimate, stripped down guitar/vocal arrangements of his songs. When asked if he planned the addition of backup musicians to the line up, he replied, ”Having a backup band for live performances would be fun, but I feel funny about being the band leader. I don’t want to force my music on anyone... it’d sure be a relief to play bass again, though.”Feeling funny about leadership is one thing, but teaching 60+ brand new songs to two or three new people might give anyone second thoughts about signing up in the first place.To get the latest scoop and to checkout the newest M.e.
