Artist History
The SKULLCAP story...The saga of
SKULLCAP begins in early 2000. The band was known
at that time as HATESTRUCK, a 4 piece death
metal outfit. This incarnation lasted til the beginning of
2001, when the drummer abruptly left the group.
Everyone went their seperate ways for a few months
after that.
The band soon reformed with a new
drummer under the name SKULLCAP, with a
decision being made to place the full on death on the
back burner and concentrate more on the groove of the
new songs. This version of the band enjoyed much
success in the local area, but trouble was waiting in the
wings.
In the fall of 2001, after returning from a gig,
the two founding guitarists and drummer dropped the
bomb that they were quitting the band, leaving bassist
Steve Nall and vocalist Larry "Supervillian" Hunter to
carry on. The reasons behind this split are still
shrouded in mystery...
The band then began a
revolving door of guitarists and drummers and still the
search for new final members went unfullfilled until the
summer of 2002 when everything finally came together.
With the addition of Pat Gibson filling the guitarist
position and Roger Ramos taking over on
drums. In the fall of 2002, the band began to write
new material and out of that has come the beginnings
of a new era of SKULLCAP...

Press Reviews
I have two words for Skullcaps' music .... metal attack. With heavy riffs, vocal assault and striking drum rolls, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Skullcap rocks! Musically, they vigorously beat on you until you say uncle. I loved every minute of it! The two songs that caught my attention were "Forget Me Not" and "Inside".

**********
“This Band is all balls and no wimp's. It's heavy, intense and
in your face. The track "LUNGWORMS" is nothing but what I just
said. It starts off with some cool guitar lick that kicks off the mood for the
song. With the fast paced racing guitars to the ever changing time. This band
has got another level of expertise that most bands don't care to try. Integrating wild time changes and key choices with demonic overtones and growling vocals.”
In all this band has good taste in their music style. With the start of the
second song "INSIDE" they let you know they are not giving up yet.
The feelings in this tune have you up and down on an emotional hayride. It'
seems as though they have captured the ever most grasp on getting the people
into their music.
