Artist description
Bluegrass gospel. Red Ellis sings and picks as part of a band, and does a few songs solo. Many of the songs here are from the 1960s, and some from 1970s and 1980s. Red wrote or co-wrote a few of the songs. He sang lead and harmony and played instruments, mostly guitar and mandolin. On a few later songs Red just helped his friends by playing in the band, sometimes playing several instruments by way of multi-track recording. Red is still singing and picking gospel bluegrass, but has not recorded recently. |
