SF CHRONICLE MUSIC CRITIC-JOEL SELVIN He produced and released an album of his own, "Rockin' the Country." It offers eloquent testimony that, yes, it is possible to play both rock and country, and Charles is distributing the LP on his own Ridin' High Records. HE'S A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY, A LITTLE BIT CRAZY BY DEBORAH CARVALHO WALNUT CREEK TIMES Pete Charles has a lot going for him. He has good looks--many say he bears a striking resemblance to rock singer Huey Lewis. He has a wild and crazy sense of humor--much like that of Steve Martin. Between his recording ventures, which include producing other artists, it's a wonder he has time to sit down and talk at all about his band--The Pete Charles Band (PCB). When he does find the time, his eyes widen much like a child at Christmas time looking at the presents beneath the tree. He gasps for breaths while talking almost non-stop. It is obvious that he eats, sleeps and breathes the music business... |
