Artist History
After unsuccessful solo careers, Jobe McCallister and Gomer J. Timberman got together for a jam session in the UVU swamplands in late 1997. They liked what they made, but Gomer's near-fatal Worms infection delayed the release of their first EP, A Frog on a Log in the Bog, for 2 1/2 years. After stumbling upon medical assistance in late 1999, Gomer was cured of his ailment and the group was able to put the finishing touches on the album, but decided against releasing it. Instead, they released Berry Bog, what they felt was the best song off of the EP, as a single. In August 2000, driven on the success of their single, they released their long-awaited debut album, Life and Love: Growing up in the Bog. While Berry Bog was an upbeat, carefree single, L&L:GUITB showed how the band had matured, with a more serious tone, an improved style, including the unforgettable 7 minute long title track, in which 11 different instruments were used. Nowadays, they're busy recording their second full-length album, and ready to release the historical EP "A Frog on a Log in the Bog: The Early Days", which includes the entire AFOALITB EP, plus the solo efforts of Gomer and Jobe, long before they even met. |
