Artist History
The history of Mind Candy starts somewhere in the early 1990s. As with most local garage type bands, it started off with a small myriad of friends fromhigh school who decided to get together and jam (or "jelly" as one of the members once said). Little did they know that just a few short years wouldchange the way they perceive themselves as well as their music. In 1993, after several changes in musical style and implementation, Mind Candy was born. In 1995, Mind Candy released their first album (on cassette), unofficially named "The Blue Note". It was delivered to "The Last Record Store" in SantaRosa, California and "People's Music" in Sebastopol, California. Later the same year, Mind Candy was debuted on KXFX 101.7 FM, The Fox Radio Station for the "Local Musician Showcase". In 1998, Mind Candy re-released "The Blue Note" on both cassette and CD. With the advent of the year 2000, Mind Candy dusts off the instruments once again and goes back into the studios to start work on the forthcomingalbum "A New Age" which sports an entirely new sound with a new member to the all-star cast. The rest of Mind Candy's history is in the future... |
