    Artist description
Introducing Jeremiah Jacobs, a Northern-California based writer & producer of pop music. He's been instrumental in helping many other aspiring artists bring their projects to fruition. Most recently, this has included his personal collection, "This.""'This' represents an interesting and transitional time for me. I met with some unique challenges in my life, a few deeply personal-" he recalls. It was these times of long contemplation and collaboration that the genesis of "This" was born. "These songs are really a reflection of the questions that plagued me for a period of my life. Questions about destiny, purpose, satisfaction....all of these 'meaning-of-life' questions that people sometimes stop and really ponder. Well, I kind of brooded for a while longer than most, I suppose."The music of "This" is drawn from and inspired by many influences, some close to home. "At a very early age, my parents were friends with a group called "The Mommas and The Poppas" in Los Angeles. I'm told I sat in on many jam-sessions and rehearsals. I do have vague, fuzzy recollections of something far back, when I close my eyes and concentrate. It makes me wonder...."Strongly influenced by music while growing up, Jeremiah amassed a respectable collection of music, spanning many genres and generations. "I'll tell you, it's the records and CD's I listen to that inspire me to create and produce. When I hear a great song, it really drives me to create. I'm always inspired by great music.""You probably wouldn't guess, but some of my strongest influences are from 80's hair-bands. I was a sucker for those juicy ballads. This was probably because I learned to play them all and it's how I met girls. "Carrie" [by Swedish rock band Europe] and "Open Arms"[Journey] and "Alone"[Heart] were the sole reason I got dates."In the mid-90's, Jeremiah took on an internship at a local recording studio, Studio Z. "That changed my life, in a lot of ways," he says, "I'm more thankful than you know for that. Z gave me the keys (literally) and let me loose with thier "A" room and some respectable clientel. I made some pretty big goofs, technically." Goofs and glitches aside, the experience proved invaluable for Jeremiah. "The personal transformation those couple years set in motion were almost the entire reason I felt comfortable enough to express the things I was feeling at the time. I owe more to that than I can comprehend."In 1997, Jeremiah contributed his energy to support the Sacramento AIDS Foundation by producing a pop single for a benefit CD. Created by combining the creative efforts of people met though experience at Studio Z, it marked the beginning of a journey. "The benefit CD was my first real 'chance' to produce something that a lot of people would hear. I was priveleged to work with a new electronic/dance group called N'Vision. We spent about four weeks on the single, and it was done. We never looked back!"Jeremiah spent the next few years working with many other writers and producers, as well as continuing to engineer. His music has been featured in a broad array of media, including: a music bed for nationally syndicated radio program, a DVD for NASA, needle-drop, countless song demo's, compilation CD's...the list goes on! On the side, he labored to bring "This" to reality.** The Call**"One day, I come home and there's this voicemail from some guy- says his name's Rod Underhill. He says 'I'm from MP3.com and you're our 100,000th artist. Yep, that's you!' and I'm like 'Uhhh, heh heh, huh huh.....OK or something.' There were press releases and everything!"So now, the music is here for you to enjoy.www.mp3.com/jeremiahjacobs

    Artist History
Jeremiah began producing music projects for various groups in the mid-90s, including a single for the Sacramento R&B duo n’vision, whose “Home Is” track was included on the holiday compilation CD Believe – A Holiday Wish. He’s also completed music work for NASA, including a press kit for the Lunar Prospector mission and a DVD project for NASA’s new BioTech research center. Most recently Jeremiah completed a projectfor Russian television, using his production skills toto blend contemporary Russian songs with Western production.Although producing projects for other groups has kept him busy over the last few years, Jeremiah has always preferred recording his own material. Specializing in music with a world/pop feel, he derives most of his musical pleasure from the creative process. “The most satisfaction comes from taking the seed of a song and nurturing it into something beautiful – genesis to realization . . . or apocalypse.”
