Artist description
Ian Sadler divides his time between presenting organ recitals and conducting choirs. He is organist at Knox Presbyterian Church in Stratford Ontario Canada and he conducts two community choirs - The Stratford Concert Choir and the Pro Musica Choir of Burlington. He is accompanist to the Bell'Arte Singers of Toronto and performs duo recitals with his wife, Canadian soprano, Catherine Sadler. |

Artist History
Born in Cambridge, England, Ian trained for seven years at St. Paul's Cathedral, London: five as choirboy and two as an organ student. A further five years were spent at the King's School, Canterbury with organ tuition from the Cathedral Organists. Ian won the Organ Scholoarship to Bristol University, graduating with an Hounours degree in Musicology. He received a further degree in Music Education from the University of London. Ian holds diplomas from both the Royal College of Organists and Trinity College of Music, London. Ian Moved to Canada in 1980 following his appointement as Director of Music at Toronto's Grace Church On The Hill. Subsequently, he has held positions as Organist at Royal St. George's College, Choral Director at Upper Canada College, and Havergal College for Girls in Toronto. Since winning the Syracuse International Organ Competition in 1986, Ian has represented Canada at two international organ festivals: St. Alban's and Dublin. |
