Artist description
The eclectic nature of his songwriting style is refreshing. Like a good Major League pitcher he mixes it up and you never know what is coming until it is over the plate. It could be Blues, Jazz, Funk, Rock or Country. The song "I'm Your Man" has Top40 appeal, especially popular with the female listening audience and can be heard in the Karl Kozak feature film "Out Of The Black". "Victim" is a groove machine with a great lyrical story line, rounded off by strong instrumentation including a fiery duel sax lead, catchy background vocals and great production. And don't let the title Of "My Good Friend Beer" fool you. This song will knock you off your feet and right on to your favorite local bar stool. What can I say about "The Roadies Lament" Been there, done that, go back every weekend. Every musician needs to hear this song. His eclecticism makes him difficult to categorize. He doesn't seem to mind though and says that he just writes what he feels at the time. Most of the songs are written from his own experiences or his observation of those around him. There is definitely something for everyone in his music. Over all..Great Music, Great Production, A must listen***** Kevin S. Bloomington, Illinois USA. |

Artist History
I am a third generation musician. My Father and Grandparents are still performing and teaching. I started as a solo performer and currently front the band called "Easy Money" |
|
Group Members
Dave Scott is the front man for the group. A third-generation musician and
published songwriting member of ASCAP, he provides straightforward vocals,
standout guitar and crowd-pleasing banter for the band. As part of several
area groups, and many solo gigs, Dave has shared the stage with Lonnie
Brooks, Lucky Peterson, Bobby Vee, Bernard Alison, Debbie Davies and Elvin
Bishop. Easy Money’s recordings of his original songs are heard on Central
Illinois radio stations and on the Internet at mp3.com. The band is also
featured performing one of Dave’s songs on the soundtrack for the 2001
feature film, “Out of the Black” from CrossRoad Films.
Mike Coers has rhythm, no doubt about it. When he’s not behind the drum set
with Easy Money, he runs a
percussion pro shop in Frankfort, Ill. He’s directed precision marching
groups at both high school and college levels, and his drum lines have been
featured at the Rose Bowl, in commercials, and at half time shows for the
Chicago Bears. Mike is a respected clinician for jazz and concert bands, and
has performed with Ray Charles, as well as other prominent jazz and blues
icons.
Michael Hill has a quiet stage demeanor, but his bass "speaks many
languages" and makes its presence known. The Chicago native has been
affiliated with some top-notch area bands, including Mojo Stew and Hip
Pocket. His versatility has given him the chance to perform with Natalie
Cole, James Brown, Jonny Lang, Koko Taylor, Asleep at the Wheel, and Lonnie
Brooks. Michael’s style reflects many influences, and he seems at home in any
venue.
Erik Nelson is the keyboard master for the group and the owner/engineer for
Eclipse Studios in Normal, Ill. He’s
performed with several Chicago-area bands, and is a prolific songwriter whose
material has been published by MCA Records/Nashville. Erik’s flying fingers
and vocals are an important element of the sound for Easy Money. He also
composes music for industrial films, radio station jingles and commercial
video games.
Garard Montague and his sax and flute stylings are well known to music fans
in many quarters. He’s toured the U.S. and Canada with several groups,
including Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, and has performed in Central
Illinois with the Ron LaSalle Band, Mojo Stew, and The Clique. Garard, who is
originally from Washington, D.C., also has a national TV appearance to his
credit—a performance on The Big Break, hosted by Natalie Cole.
