Artist description
We're a seven piece ska band from Austin, Texas. We come from all sorts of crazy musical backgrounds and preferences, with one thing in common: we like ska. We play songs with styles that vary on the "standard ska/punk" theme. Most importantly, we're 7 guys who like to have fun and make awesome music. If the music doesn't make us feel /something/ then it's no good. And regardless of what our lyrics might say we don't think that all girls suck nor are we borderline-suicidal over every break-up. Let's just say metaphysically we're the kind of gum that doesn't come off your clothes. |

Artist History
THE ORIGIN OF THE THIRD STRING ALL STARSBy Farnell AkingbalaThe Third String All Stars, formerly the eSKApists, formerly 38 Hamburgers, began in the summer of 1999. The origional purpose of the then 6 piece ensemble was to play Reel Big Fish covers at talent shows and to spite former nemesis and social rivals the 40 Second Skandals (and to pick up chicks, of course). Origionally this ska/punk band consisted of six members, Ben Hamill (trombone and vocals), David Bond (bass), Adam Steele (trumpet and vocals), Joe Hamill (drums), Farnell Akingbala (guitar), and Lisa Hatcher (saxophone). However before ever playing their first gig they were fated to loose Lisa, only to replace her with tromboneist Kim Jackson. From there I, Farnell, discovered a "talent" (some call it a curse) for writing lyrics and we but a member and a few months short of becoming an unstoppable, all-origional Sextet of Wonder. From there we have made the recent exchange of Kim Jackson for newest All Stars Jon Hunt (trombone) and Jacob Kern (saxophone). Since, the once Reel Big Fish cover band has evolved into an onstage phenomenon. So to you former Hamburgers, eSKApists, and All Stars, alas we shall miss you and we salute you. You'll always be legal in Arkansas. |
