Artist History
We started this band in mid 1997. We all pretty much met through school, but how we became a band is kinda messed up. Me (Chris) and Michael started to be pretty good friends in summer of 1997 and started messing around with music at his house. Michael had already been playing guitar for about 2 years and the drums for 4 years with the school band. I pretty much couldn't play anything but very little bass. I started tring to play drums and loved playing them but no one loved hearing me play them. After we started to become friends with Jeremy he decided that he wanted to play a guitar too, and we needed a bass player anyways. So michael got the bass from school and we played all summer. And that's pretty much how it happend. We never really considered ourselves a "band", so we didn't even have a name. We had to come up with a name for our performance at the school talent show. Even though the crowd response was spectacular and everyone in the gym was standing before a single note was played, we didn't even place in the competition.Judges Suck!!! |

Press Reviews
Punk Rock Reviews (www.punkrockreviews.com) review of FTH's Demo:Hailing from Bonham, TX. (no I've never heard of it either) FTH play some pretty good pop punk. This young trio reminds me of Home Grown (without the ska). For a band that hasn't been together all that long, and this being their first recording, it sure is impressive. Seven songs from a band that isn't concerned with thier image (check out FTH Sucks, one of the songs from the CD), and isn't stuck with taking themselves too seriously. Quick, fun songs that will have you tapping your feet a few listens in. "Butternuts" and "Condom Thief" were my favorite, as well as the fastest. On "Time Takes Forever" they attempt to slow down the tempo, and while the song isn't bad, I found myself wishing for more of their fast, energetic tunes. With so many demo tapes being of terrible quality (musically, lyrically, and soundwise) FTH stand out as a band with true potential in the melodicore/fast pop punk genre. Fans of the entire "songs About Chicks" compilation, or bands such as Fenix-TX, 5c Deposit, or Dynomite Boy, should find FTH appealing. Personally, I'll beawating their futer releases with great anticipation.http://www.punkrockreviews.com/ |
