Artist description Dana “Ciera” Holmes is an eleven-year-old singer/songwriter from Newport News, Virginia. Oldest of five, Ciera has been singing since the age of two and has been writing her own material since the tender age of six. As a result of the training given to here by her mother Leslie Cowles, founder of the non-profit organization B.B.&B. Ministries, Ciera can write a song in less then fifteen minutes. This is a skill that she has perfected giving her versatility in the studio. Since the age of four, Ciera has performed with the “St. Stephens’ Sunbeam Choir” (organized by Pastor Joyce Mines) in engagements that covered the following areas: Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, Philadelphia, and Florida. She progressed to become a director of the Sunbeam and Youth Choirs. This was thought news worthy of Channel 3 News’ Live at 9 broadcast. She was, shortly after, awarded the “Outstanding Music Award” from the Music Department of Jenkins. Being a young woman of ambition, she is the spoke person for Youth to Youth and is involved with the Purity Club while still maintaining Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance in school. Dana “Ciera” Holmes gathers inspiration from the teachings and support of her family and Pastor Joyce Mines who recently went home to be with the Lord. Pastor Mine’s death deeply effected Ciera motivating her to strive for perfection in academics and music. In memory of Pastor Joyce Mines, Ciera dedicates her upcoming debut album. Though she is young, she has experienced many adversities due to the music business. Though discouraged, she decided to give the music one more chance. She was then introduced to a company in here neighborhood by the name of Starvin Artist Entertainment. The owners of Starvin Artist, Jeff Beale and Joey Cypress, took interest in here abilities and were impressed with her dedication. They then decided to work out a way to get Ciera the proper resources she needed to expose her music to the world. She would be working with Joey Trax in the field of producing her album and with Jeff Beale in the department of marketing and promotions. With the help of her mother in the department of management and the grace of God, Ciera will be heard.The album “Church Girl” is a combination of old spiritual hymn and modern day gospel with a touch of praise worship.
