Artist description Children In Heat began life in a small garage outside of Buffalo, NY in the spring of 1996. The band in the beginning was Dirt on guitar and vocals and LoF on bass. The next year brought a revolving door of guitar players and drummers and by the end of 1997 the line-up was complete with John Popielinski on drums and "Motherfucking Frank" on guitar. Drawing from influences like Black Sabbath, the Misfits, Ministry and Black Flag, the bands sound was dark and raw. In 1998 the band recorded two songs, "Princess Die" and "Happy Masochist", for the RUT Records compilation "From the Underground Vol. 1. These songs became fan favorites at live shows and received good play on MP3.com and web music host IUMA.com. LoF relocated to Ohio shortly after the new year but the band would keep it together. From the Underground Vol. 2 (released summer of 2000), featured two more songs, "Drive-In Horror Show" and "Bedtime Story", that would later appear on their full length. They started to play more regionally throughout NY, Penn, and Ohio. In March of 2000 new drummer John Coco entered the fold and by year's end they began working on their 1st full length CD. In the summer of 2001, RUT Records released their 1st all-Punk compilation entitled UNITED PUNKS Vol. 1 featuring 24 bands from all over the world. The band used this as an opportunity to begin promoting the new record with the track "Time Heals All Wounds". "Black and White and Red All Over" was released in October of 2001 and was well received. By the end of the year the album was selling all across the country without any major distribution. New material was already in the works and in February of 2002 the band began work on their second full length. 12 songs will appear on "Elementary" due for an April 8th release. A US tour is planned along with major print and radio marketing.
