Artist description
Boldly Singing Where No One Has Sung Before! Are you ready for a musical journey that moves beyond time and space, into a dimension of ultimate depth and dynamic? The sweeping diversity of this compelling singer/songwriter from Albuquerque, NM will take you there. With stylings that transcend the barriers between Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Ballad, Miss LaVerne's uncommon passion soars from a heart grounded in the root of Gospel. Profound observations are woven into a tapestry of prose, then set to a colorful backdrop of powerful arrangements as she invites the listener to join her adventure. In this voice described as "sultry but sweet, forceful yet fragile," Theresa challenges thought, process, and emotion with an electrifying blend of both touchable melody and driving intensity. |

Artist History
Singing for "as long as she can remember", Theresa's solo career has really kicked off with the release of her debut CD, "Suspended Excitement". With a background that combines classical training with the soulful grit of "life in the school of hard knocks", Theresa's trademark theatrical style has been further developed by successful tenures with two Albuquerque Bands, as well as consistent solo performances for special events and studio session work. Classic Rock band "Frey'd Knot" prepared Theresa for the rigors of Rock and Roll, while "Red House" provided the polish of an ecclectic blend of original Jazz and Blues. The big surprise in Theresa's background comes from her history of lung related health issues that include both drowning and disease. When you listen to this trumpet of a voice, you will know how she has come to be labled a "Freedom Fighter". |
