Artist description
A modern rock feast for the ears and eyes. Taking elements of the individual members' early influences, including (but not limited to) Kiss, Prince, Soul Asylum, Seven Seconds & 80's metal and melding them with the new face of rock from bands like Counting Crows, dada and Tonic, Pebbles Overflow has succeeded in creating a sound that is somewhat familiar, but all their own. Artist History
Scott Wherle and Jeff Lacefield got together in late '96 to write a song for a wedding Scott was asked to perform. Friends since high school, Scott and Jeff recognized their immediate songwriting chemistry and decided to capitalize and develop more material to perform as an acoustic duo around the Cincinnati area. They soon got the itch to turn their acoustic side project into a full-fledged rock outfit and began recruiting more members in early '98. The membership has evolved over time to include Chicago transplant Jason Hawke on bass, Shane Miller on lead guitar and Chad Stamper on drums. The group has performed dozens of gigs throughout Cincinnati and the entire Tri-State area as well as large festivals and national showcases. |

Press Reviews
Fans of well-crafted, radio-friendly Modern Rock will want to seek out Safe From the Undertow, the debut from local band Pebbles Overflow. The group officially started in '98 and have since developed a loyal local following with their catchy Pop sound. On Safe, nearly every song sounds destined for commercial radio play. The group has its own sound, but their music would fit nicely on Modern Rock radio right between an old Toad the Wet Sprocket song and a new one by Matchbox 20. Don't be surprised if these guys have record labels sniffing around before too long. - Mike Breen, Citybeat. |
