    Artist History
Formed by Stephen Pearcy in San Diego CA in 1976. Mickey Ratt became one of the premiere local bands on the San Diego party, club scene playing every skate park, theatre and club they were allowed to play. Pearcy moved the rodents to L.A. in 1980 after he caught a new band called Van Halen (2) years earlier and set his sights on getting a record deal. Stephen's Mickey Ratt recorded many songs in every possible format until recording his first 45 single on his arrival, titled Ratt in 1980. Only 100 singles were pressed. The songs on the single are "Doctor Rock" (Pearcy) and "Drivin on E" (Pearcy/Turner). Stephen would later drop the Mickey from Mickey Ratt and designed a logo statement name like Kiss in late 1982. Some songs Stephen wrote (1976-80)in Mickey Ratt: "U Got it", "Sweet Cheater","Tell the World", "Back for More" and the single "You think your Tough" written by (Pearcy/Crosby) that would introduce Ratt & Roll to the world would end up on the self titled E.P. Ratt in 1983.The song "Back for More" would also end up the second single from the first full length debut album in 1984. The multi-platinum Ratt "Out of the Cellar" along with other Pearcy penned songs from his Mickey Ratt Dayz, "In your Direction", "Never use Love", "City to City", Ratt Madness", Top Secret", Take it Anyway" and "Railbreak" would all make platinum status on future Ratt albums thru the 80's.Mickey Ratt would play every known club in L.A. until becoming the house band at the world famous Gazzarris on the sunset strip. The rest as they say is His-Story.
