Artist History
Meisha Herron: Singer, songwriter, guitarist. Performing over a decade with bands ranging from garage to Caribbean. Herron has performed as a side guitarist with Shirley King, Maggie Brown, Funky Wordsmyths and many others. As a solo artist, Meisha Herron has opened for U'lele at Chicago's Double Door, and performed around the Midwest at venues such as Ohio State University, The Museum of Science and Industry, the Old Town School of Folk Music's New Millennium Series, and The International Festival of Life. She is currently recording a new collection of material and planning a college tour. Some of Herron's musical style is derived from the varied styles of such notable artists as Nina Simone, Lauren Hill, early blues artists and many others which all helped to influence Herron's unique style.
