    Press Reviews
"...a handful of the songs shine in their build-ups, as the lyrical and vocal emotiveness heightens in sonic climax." KVRX Austin"...mix sonic youth, tristeza, radiohead, and U2 in one big pot, and you have lewis...lewis is from texas, and they have that distinct texas rock sound. it was relaxing to listen to this while waiting five hours to make a left turn on santa monica blvd." -buddyhead"After having somehow, and I don't quite recall how, running across an MP3 from this band and later requesting their full-length for review purposes, I walked away speechless. I can state with relative ease that this band is one which needs to be heard this year into the next. You yourself can put Lewis among the ranks of the The Mercury Program, Antarctica, Ganger, and The Gilroys in terms of quality, on-par releases. In the wake, yet still a seeming absence of a line demarking substance in today's independent music scene, Lewis infuse a fresh derivative from any current scene of things, and musically, their influences are vast, as I cannot pinpoint any in particular. If The Toadies, Our Lady Peace and Cool for August were indie rock bands, I might venture to guess Lewis would be a melding of the two, yet a bit more experiment-laden and laced with patience. Lewis aren't necessarily shooting for the "hip" but instead shoot for the legs; as track number four "Anywhere but Here" states, "Philosophy is not for me / Revolution everything". The album title is also quite an apt choice, as the theme rings true throughout the recording, filling the listener with tension, release, emotion, and disdain. In the end, one begins to realize the sad state of affairs humans put themselves through on a day-to-day basis, failing to see the answers lie right in front of them. Consider this a documentary of our hapless nature. Consider this obvious and beautiful." -signal drench"It's hard to ignore a great band, but close to impossible when it comes to lewis and their astound talent and emotion. A live lewis show is an experience that surpasses any local band. The emotion and coordination of their music genly lifts away anything surrounding you. Completely captured by the stage and the sound, so many layers and melodies are intertwined through each song." -SickGRRL fanzine
