Artist History
Known for great lyrics, solid melodies and a catchy, modern rock sound, tripper has established itself as one of the top bands in the Midwest.
The Detroit-based band got its start in April 1999 when Frank Buscemi (vocals/guitars/harmonica) and Steve Marvicsin (guitars/vocals) both appearing as solo/acoustic artists performed on the Gentle Friday stage at Central Michigan University. Ken Thomas (drums/ percussion/ vocals) stepped in during December 2000, while Aaron Berch (keyboards/ vocals) and Robert Carr (bass/vocals) joined during 2003 to round out the lineup.
Tripper released its second album - Yesterday, Friday & Today - during June 2002 with tracks from the album featured on commercial radio in Detroit (89X; 96.3 WDVD) three months before recording was completed. Since January of 2001, tripper songs have been downloaded from its MP3.com site more than 19,000 times, with the single "My Angel" reaching the #4 slot on MP3.com's Top 100 national chart. The charting led to tripper being named one of the "best unsigned bands of 2001" on MP3.com.
During summer 2003, Tripper's "Clearly Mistaken" single will appear on the Buzzlighter compilation series put out by Shut Eye Records (Atlanta, GA). The CD will be available in August.
Yesterday, Friday & Today is available on Amazon.com, CDBaby.com and Awarestore.com. Tripper will continue to play select dates in 2003 to support the release.
