Artist History
Formed in 1996 Soul Inquisition was created to make a dent in the black and death metal world. Combining many influences into one sound made Soul Inquisition a force to be reckoned with. Soul Inquisition was U.S. black metal before black metal was cool. Spawning 5 demos in a period of 4 years Soul Inquisition was always at work improving their sound. With each new release sound quality and musicianship increased dramatically. The final opus "In Darkness They Hunt" saw the band reach an all time high point. In November of 2000 Soul Inquisition reached number 2 on the mp3.com black metal charts in between Old Man's Child and Dimmu Borgir. It was here that the song "Nightmare" would stay for over a month. Over 2,500 people listened to the "In Darkness They Hunt" album in that short time period. Feeling that the band should go out on top Mark Rapture ended Soul Inquisition that same month to start his new band Long Since Dark. Soul Inquisition lives on here on mp3.com where soon every release will be here for free! Thanks to all who helped make Soul Inquisition worth it!
