Artist History
When you hear the name Pocket fuzz what do you think of? Do you think of rainbows and unicorns? Or do those painful memories of Hiroshima come back to haunt you. Well whatever happens when you think of this band one thing is for sure. They are not heroes out there to take over the world; they are just 4 regular guys out there to have some fun.
No… Well... Actually... They are heroes aiming to take over the world. Sorry. And they’re hot. All four of them. And with their catchy bubblegum punk tunes they are well on their way. (If someone would just sign them!) I’m sure you all want to know how Pocketfuzz began. No.. I didn’t think so... Well anyways. Ben (guitar, bvg’s) and Andrew (vocals) were in grade 6. One day Andrew put grass down Ben’s shirt and Ben landed a fist right into Andrew’s face, and after a 2-hour fistfight history was made! After they got out of their comas they both decided to start a band and model themselves after their idols ‘Ace of
Well... Grade 7 came along and one day Andrew came to Ben and said ‘Hey Benny I just heard this new band. Tthey are totally radical’. Ben said ‘Far out man who are they’. Andrew Then said ‘I don’t know. Something like pxbf or something like that.’ That’s when the two boys fell in love with MxPx. And from then on wanted to start a punk rock band. Well nothing happened until grade 9 when Ben found out his good friend Marc (drums) could play some mean drums. Actually he sucked. And so did Ben. But for the summer they both tried to play together, covering many MxPx songs like chick magnet, and bad hair day. Then like 100 years later Matt Shaffer (bass) moved to Fonthill from New Jersey and joined Andrew’s church. He was convinced by Andrew to let his guitar collect some dust and invest in a new bass. This was it boys and girls, the turning point. When they actually were a real band! And boy did they suck. But after endless nights of practising and numerous visits from the police to Andrew’s church for late night noise violations, they became real good at playing and writing their own stuff.
Pocketfuzz was born. After tons of shows, and winning 3rd in a tough city sponsored Battle of the Bands, and tons of potential, Matt left. Now they’re at square one with their new bassist Chris Dalgleish (no offence Buck) we’ll keep you all posted. Peace out, word to yo momma, and buy our CD.. Now.. Bug your parents and sell some lemonade.
