Artist History
Seven years ago I bought my first guitar. I taught myself basic chords from books and magazines.I got fed up with picking up my guitar now and again to play other people's songs, I could never remember the chords from one night to the next.I always had stuff of my own floating around in my head and in September 98 I decided to start writing them down.I have written many songs to date which I am yet to record as my pockets are not yet lined. I've played only one gig to get a feeler and loved it.I got a good response with people asking when the next gig was so watch this space. I'm working on other songs to add to my next set and deciding which songs to take out. There are around 30 songs at the moment so it's a case of finding out what goes down best with everyone.Each gig will see new material so go to one if you can !!.The 3 tracks here on mp3.com were recorded in SEP 2000 at MEWS PRODUCTIONS,LONDON E17.Recording took about 18 hours and I'll record more once the cash situation sorts itself out!. |

Joe Washbourn Gets Kert
It was a long time coming but Toploader's Joe Washbourn has finally got round to picking his winner for February's Dream Prize. When he learned of the win, Kert Mathew didn't care about the delay, he was off for the VIP treatment at this year's v2001 Festival.

At the tail end of February Toploader's Joe Washbourn sifted through getoutthere's files and took a selection of tracks away with him. Traclking him down hasn't been easy, but when we did eventually find him he was quick to reveal his Dream Prize winner - Stevenage's Kert Mathew.
