Artist History
Honey For Christ were formed in November 1998 and began to write metal music as we want to hear it. All categories of metal were forgotten and it was agreed that no member would hold back any influence, and this created the sound of Honey for Christ. From March 1999 we have gigged intensively around Belfast and surrounding areas and in April of that year the debut “Long Way Down & Rising” was recorded on 4 track. The demo was heavily distributed and achieved very good press in both fanzines and magazines (7/10 in Terrorizer), even though it lacked in production. Various distros supported the demo and it is still selling a year after its release.High profile support slots with Cathedral, Waylander, Orange Goblin, Hangnail and Lacuna Coil also provided good exposure and have helped establish a loyal local fan base through explosive live performances and heavy promotion. The events of the previous year led to the creation of a self financed EP, entitled “The Art of Self Abuse & Soul Erosion,” an emotionally charged journey into the band as it is today, 5 tracks of dark, sinister metal that displays a passion for music and all it stands for. This is Honey For Christ. |

Press Reviews
THE BIG BUZZ - Kirsten McAlpine. Honey For Christ Lauch New CD. It was great to see a huge crowd at 'rocKD' last month to support the launch of Honey For Christ's new EP, 'The Art of Self Abuse & Soul Erosion'. Support on the day came from local death metallers, Devoured, who certainly gave even the HFC boys a run for their money, witha devastatingly heavy performance, complete with a vocalist who could make Glen Benton look like a fucking choir boy!...However, this was Honey For Christ's day and they made the most of it with an excellent performance, including several pf the tracks from the new EP ('Glutton of Misery' sounds fantastic live). Vocalist, Jason was on top form with a typically crazed performance which whipped the crowd into a frenzy...All in all, it was a great launch for the new EP with over 20 copies being sold (a bargain at just £4 each). If you weren't there and would like to get your hands on a copy of 'The Art of Self Abuse & Soul Erosion', then you can contact Honey For Christ at: 32 Magherabeg Road, Dromore, Co. Down BT25 1RS or email the band at: hfc@heavymetal.co.uk.You can also check out the website at www.honeyforchrist.co.uk |
