Artist History
"Shorty" Played professionally with Margaret Allison and the Angelics and several other World Renown and Legendary artist such as "The Mighty Clouds of Joy"Francis Leggett's love for music began as a child, while his father played tunes from Wes Montgomery and various Jazz artist. Music, the heart and soul of the family, continued to enlighten his interests until he was old enough to venture out into Rock, R&B, Pop, and traditional and contemporary Gospel. At the age of 14, Leggett, a self accomplished musician, embellished the legendary styles of George Benson, Norman Brown, and Wes Montgomery. He began playing for local bands and gospel groups traveling the east coast. As a young man, Francis was afforded the opportuniety to tour European countries playing Gospel. However; after several years of touring, he yearned for the music he enjoyed the most. he gave up the glamorous travel and limelight to return to his first musical love, Jazz. Because of his religous beliefs and his love for the guitar, Francis' music has been transformed by the renewing of his mind in Christ Jesus and his music has evolved into "Inspirational Jazz" |
